Friday

Today was the day when the trip started. I should say that the trip nearly did not start for David and Brian. David left his passport on the plane to Heathrow and managed to retrieve it just in time! Whilst Brian sustained an injury to his leg whilst climbing back up a down escalator as we laughed!

We had to call for assistance as Brian had several lacerations to his knee and foot. John did not realise how much muscle looked like raw chicken!

After landing in Mumbai and meeting up with big A(dam) we then ran the gautlet of a taxi ride from the airport to the apartments in Thane. We will blog separately about travelling in the area as it makes the Kingston Bridge look like a children's bumper car ride!

This morning we went to an Oasis project in Mumbai where Adam is a doctor to the people who arrive in need of help either as a result of prostitution or HIV/Aids issues.

Left is a picture of the centre's staff

We had a great time of praise, worship and prayer for the whole team. God brought to the team many words which they felt were very encouraging for them and came at the right time.
We were also able to listen to the story of the centre and to chat with the team members.
The char was very good as well! Ishbel's sweetener not much in evidence (apart from her tea!)
A few of us then went to see Naomi (a former worker of JSK) who now runs a project centre for women caught up in prostitution along with their children and orphans.
Their plight really hit home and made it an emotional experience for those that went.
Jo and Adam cooked a beautiful curry for us tonight and by the way Gulab Jamun rocks!
Thanks for your continued prayers (We feel and know the love!) and don't forget to pray for the healing process on Brian's leg. In two days three deep wounds have closed over for which we give thanks to God for.
